Refuse To Sink
Refuse To Sink is an 18 inch by 24 inch acrylic painting on canvas with wood frame. Just because the anchor is down doesn’t mean you have to sink with it. You drop the anchor to stay afloat, not to sink. To keep you in place, secure and grounded. Refuse to sink but if you must, swim.
I enjoyed painting this piece because being a Navy Vet it meant something to me. I painted this as a request, sort of. Previously I had done an anchor painting for a Navy Chief and because someone liked it did a different version of another anchor. I wanted it to have coral and a star fish and some colors to really stand out from such a dark background. I added the words and title because sometimes we just need some encouraging words.
