Survivor Painting by Sonya Heller
Survivor is a 16 inch by 20 inch acrylic painting on canvas with a wood frame. This painting, inspired by Breast Cancer Awareness and hits home for me. This painting is about conquering and overcoming rather it’s you or a loved one. Having hope to make it through, therefore I wear Pink! This painting is a great gift in remembering how far you or someone you loved have come, because you can survive.
This painting was inspired by my late Aunt who died of breast cancer. I painted this because I wanted to do something in her memory. I sat down one day and actually painted a different painting. Along the way as my talent grew came this painting. I am proud to have grown as an artist because I know she would be so proud of me. I just wish she was around to see how far I have come as an artist and person.
Cancer is a sickness that not one is ready for, because it can take your life. It seems to come at the wrong times and seems to take the most loving and caring people. This painting represents hope and remembering that person who can make you smile. The fight is real and not everyone makes it though the journey that cancer takes you on. Keep pushing though and keep that hope alive. Always remember that loving spirit of the ones who have gone and appreciate those that are still around.
